Edgar Allan Poe (via dira)
Hello, my name is Katie and I am a procrastinator. Of epic proportions. The real problem is that it doesn’t take me very long to do things. I know this, so I use it to my full advantage, claiming that I work better under pressure. I promised myself that if I was accepted into Graduate school that I would change the type of student I am. That means no longer leaving things to the last minute starting the night before and popping out an A/high B no problem.
This past week, my cohort got slammed with most of our long-term assignments. I knew they were coming, but all of my professors decided to give us the minute details of each project in the same week. They are due around the same time as well. I am very tempted to not work on anything but the readings for class this weekend, but I know I must do some research and write for these projects. I have to be like the Little Engine That Could during Grad School. I know this work is so important, both in the classroom and in my Assistantship. I have to do well in order to have a successful career. Starting over with my patterns as a student.
Tonight is a romantic night in with my school books followed by heavy cleaning of my apartment.
